Harvard Apparatus, Inc. (HAI) of Holliston, Massachusetts announces the acquisition of Clark Electromedical Instruments by Harvard Apparatus Ltd. our UK subsidiary located in Edenbridge, England.

Clark Electromedical Instruments manufactures micro-pipettes and micro-electrodes used primarily in intracellular research. Additionally, Clark Electromedical Instruments is the European distributor for Warner Instruments Corporation and David Kopf Instruments.

Clark Electromedical will continue to trade under the Clark brand name, however, all manufacturing, marketing and sales support has been relocated to the Harvard Edenbridge facility. The Clark products will continue to be available through the Clark worldwide distribution network and will now be available through all of Harvard’s subsidiaries worldwide. We are pleased that Mr. Douglas Clark, the previous President of Clark Electromedical, will consult with Harvard for a period of up to three years.

The acquisition of Clark Electromedical Instruments strengthens our position in Cell Biology and complements the recently acquired Medical Systems product line.
